eHow Tips: How to Start Earning Money Faster
When I first started writing for eHow, I was dumbfounded when, after writing for a week, I hadn’t earned much more than a nickel. I asked a fellow eHow writer to take a look at my articles, to see if I was doing something “wrong” that would cause me to be earning $0 nearly every day. She responded by telling me that I wrote well, and that in order to start earning money, I simply need to be patient. To start earning money faster, she said, I needed to write as many articles as I could. Although there’s no magic number, she said, most eHow writers noticed a marked increase in their earnings around the time that they hit one hundred articles. Out of curiosity and drive, I set out to write one hundred articles as fast as I could. I finished in eighteen days.
I have to say that she was correct. That was around the time that I saw a noticeable increase in my earnings. It’s not a magic number, though. I think that it’s around that number that people have a wider readership, because their articles most likely span several topics that are read by more people. If you write ten articles, for example, about seven or eight different topics, you reach 7 different demographic groups. If you write one hundred articles, however, and they are about fifty to eighty different topics, your audience is far wider, your number of readers is higher, and the likelihood of readers being interested in ads running on your articles increases (simply as a result of the sheer increase in the number of readers).
To start earning money faster on eHow, then, I suggest that writers get one hundred articles under their belts as fast as possible. To do this, work slightly outside your comfort zone. If you usually write three articles per day, write four or five. If you usually write one per week, write two or three per week. Up your output, and you’ll up your income.
