November 30

Today I wrote my one hundredth article at eHow.com.   On my fourth or fifth day at eHow, I contacted a more seasoned eHow writer.  I asked her to please look at my articles to tell me if I was doing something incorrectly.  I joined the day after another writer did, and he’d already written something about his earnings.  However meager his earnings were, they were still earnings.  I, however, hadn’t earned a single cent, and wondered if there was something grossly wrong about my style or formatting.

Luckily, the person I contacted was not only seasoned, but also kind and helpful.  She praised my work, and told me to 1) keep on writing, 2) be patient, and 3) write as many articles as I could, as fast as I could.  She went on to tell me that although there is no magic number, most writers start seeing a significant increase in their income once they reach their one hundredth article.    I can think of several reasons why this makes sense.

I decided to push myself this month so that I won’t have to work as hard to reach 100 during December.  With three kids, I’m usually busy in December, with Christmas parties, crafts, decorating, planning, and shopping.

I wrote a quick post in the forum, telling everyone that I’d reached my one hundred article milestone. Someone said that it’s probably an eHow record.  :)

I intend to keep writing as often as possible.  My goal is two to five articles per day, but I won’t beat myself up if I don’t reach that.   Quality over quantity.  So even if I churn out just two to five articles per week, I’ll still be happy with myself.
