I enjoyed my short time off, but I am back in the writing saddle. I was surprised when I logged into eHow this morning. I had over 150 friend requests (presumably because my last appearance in the forum was a reply to someone’s post asking if anyone earns over $500 per month with eHow).

If you’ve been writing for eHow for several months, I highly suggest taking a week-long break every few months. It was very refreshing to take a break from all writing and working online for a week. I have returned refreshed, renewed, and with a list of several article and blog post ideas that came to me while I was just “being.” While I’ve never had a problem with writer’s block, I’ve also never had a list this long of things that I want to write about. If I’d been writing and working every day, my mind would have been otherwise-engaged, and it wouldn’t have been clear enough to allow these ideas to bubble up to the top (and eventually onto the computer screen).

During my break, I spent more time working around the house, in the garden, and going out and about. I interacted with more people, and just hung out and talked for hours on end. That’s where a large portion of the well-spring of ideas came from: Just relaxing and talking to friends.

So… as I’ve said before: if you’ve just started to write for eHow, write fast, hard, and often. But now I add this bit of wise advice: If you’ve been writing for eHow for a few months, take some time off and allow ideas to just come to you, naturally and effortlessly, as you rest your mind and spirit. (You can relax completely, knowing that your eHow earnings will keep rolling in, day after day, as you’re resting.)
